Here, instead of focusing on a single sound, the child can focus on producing final consonants. Final consonant deletion is a phonological process in which the child deletes the last sound(s) of a word when speaking. For example, the word "house" may instead sound like "how". Because it is a pattern of errors and not a single sound error we refer to these as processes. This next video provides practice words with Peechie Speechie. I am not including word lists and instead encourage you to go to Articulation Nation and pick a sound your child omits at the ends of words. A common final consonant deleted is the "s" sound (as mentioned in the example). To get practice words visit the "S" and "S"-blends Practice and Resources page. Then go to "Final 's'" in any of the areas (words, phrases, sentences).
