"V" Practice and Resources

Here you will find words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and tongue twisters for the "v" sound. Most of these resources come from Home Speech Home. The "v" sound is similar to the "f" sound except we turn our voice on. Like "f", this sound can be a little spitty at first when children are learning it, but it will get better as they practice more.

For prompting it is helpful for the child to see themselves in the mirror alongside you. The "v" sound is very visual and prompting a child to put their bottom lip on their top teeth (or "bite their bottom lip") is also helpful so the child feels the placement.
